KSA #8 Establishes relationships with students that respect human dignity.
"In Allie's practicum, I witnessed a future educator with a bright career ahead of her. Her interactions with children were natural, respectful and appropriate- it was obvious that she genuinely cared for her students and they they adored her as a teacher."

Honouring Diversity
I believe that establishing relationships with students that respect human dignity begin with showing the students that you honour diversity, of all types. Regardless of a person's background, culture, race, gender etc., you accept them for who they are and recognize that they have something to offer and share. I also believe that teaching students to honour diversity in turn shows that you honour diversity. It shows that you care by trying to teach students about compassion and empathy because you want them to also honour diversity. Additionally, creating lesson plans and activities also helps me to become more aware and informed about different diversities, which in turn allows me to treat students with the respect that they deserve.
Below are three different lessons/ activities I have created to honour diversity in the classroom.
